ABOUT HER WORK
Return to the symbolism of her Zapotec roots in order to commune with its cultural identity is the purpose of art as a tool in the production of images of Gabriela Morac's work, a bridge of reconnection with its Zapotec origins from theogony, from appropriation and resignification of goddesses, gods and elements of this ancient vision of the human being and nature.
This is how, lately, through symbolic Zapotec figures, he takes up part of the worldview of said culture with a personal reinterpretation and with the addition of a very particular element of his work as well, eroticism; Although it was a theme that was highly represented in pre-Hispanic cultures, especially in ceramics, it has also been a hallmark of Morac's work for several years.
